FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Getting your brows microbladed is a big decision. Here are answers to the questions we hear most — and if yours isn’t listed, that’s exactly what a free pre-consultation is for.

How long does microblading last?

Microblading is semi-permanent and typically lasts 12 to 18 months before fading, depending on skin type, sun exposure, and skincare routine. Oilier skin tends to fade faster than dry or normal skin.

Does it hurt?

A topical numbing cream is applied before and during the procedure, so most clients describe the sensation as mild pressure or scratching rather than pain.

Am I a good candidate?

Most people are good candidates. It’s generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you have certain skin conditions, are on blood thinners, or have very oily skin, which can affect how well the pigment holds. A free pre-consultation is the best way to find out.

What does aftercare involve?

You’ll keep the area clean and dry, avoid sun exposure, swimming, and heavy sweating for about 7 to 10 days, and apply a small amount of the aftercare balm provided. Full aftercare instructions are given after your appointment.

How many sessions do I need?

Most people need an initial session plus a touch-up session 4 to 8 weeks later, once the pigment has settled and any healing is complete, to perfect the shape and color.

Is it safe?

Yes, when performed with sterile, single-use needles and proper technique. All equipment used at Rare Beauty Studio is single-use and disposed of after every appointment.
